Le groupe de travail eHealth du Benelux s’informe sur le système de partage de données de santé luxembourgeois

The Benelux initiative is based on an intergovernmental cooperation agreement between Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg.  As part of its activities, a working group was set up to focus on facilitating medical care abroad in the Benelux region, particularly through improved cross-border digital exchange of healthcare data.

As Luxembourg is a precursor within the Benelux for this type of exchange, the Agence eSanté was invited to demonstrate how the Luxembourg health data exchange system works in practice. The Agence eSanté was pleased to accompany them on a visit to the Centre Hospitalier Emile Mayrisch, one of the reference hospitals in Luxembourg that uses the various services of the eSanté platform, including the DSP (Dossier de Soins Partagé - electronic health record). This enables the exchange of health data between patients and health professionals involved in the care process in and out of hospital. This experience of sharing healthcare data at national level in Luxembourg is a precursor to the exchange of healthcare data that may take place at cross-border level.
