Under the title "Diseases have no borders, so why should EU patients", Euronews has produced a video to which the Agence eSanté has contributed

The report highlights the cross-border eHealth services that are part of MyHealth@EU, the infrastructure that enables the secure exchange of health data between European Member States. The two services currently in place in some European countries, including Luxembourg, are:

  • the exchange of an electronic prescription (ePrescription) and its dispensation (eDispensation). This allows citizens to obtain their medicines from a pharmacy in another Member State.
  • Exchange of the patient summary. The patient summary provides essential medical information, which is automatically translated into the language of the doctor treating the patient.

In this way, the MyHealth@EU services contribute to better care, and facilitate the continuity of safe and quality care across borders. They are also two pillars of the European Health Data Space which is being developed at EU level.

Aimed at the general public, the report is broadcast in 158 countries in nine languages (English, German, French, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, Russian, Greek and Hungarian).
