On Wednesday 2 July 2025, Agence eSanté invited the press to its new premises in Strassen to present its 2024 annual report, key figures for its services and the future prospects associated with its strategic reorientation.
On this occasion, Marc Hostert, Chairman of the Management Board, and Ian Tewes, Managing Director, highlighted several major advances in the field of digital health in Luxembourg.
Among the highlights of 2024:
- Strong growth in the adoption of the electronic healthcare record (Dossier de Soins Partagé -DSP): thanks to measures such as the discontinuation of CDs for medical imaging and the automatic filing of discharge letters by hospitals, DSP consultations increased by 73% among patients and 105% among healthcare professionals.
- Success of the ‘Accelerated Reimbursement/Immediate Payment’ scheme: implemented on behalf of the National Health Fund (CNS), this project has encouraged healthcare professionals to sign up to the platform.
- Increased adoption of the electronic vaccination record (Carnet de Vaccination Électronique - CVE): +59.8% more CVEs created in 2024, and an increase of more than 86% in recorded vaccination data.
The Agency has also begun developing the DSP New Generation, with a draft framework document aligned with European standards and the requirements of the European Health Data Space (EHDS), for secure and harmonised sharing of health data across Europe.
Thanks to these key elements, solid foundations have been laid to develop eSanté services towards greater security, interoperability and ease of access to health data for all citizens.
