28 May, International Women’s Health Day
Originally established to focus on the prevention of maternal morbidity, this day, supported by governments and (inter)national organisations, now has a much broader aim: to raise awareness, prevent and inform both patients and healthcare professionals, to improve women’s healthcare.
It also reminds us that women face medical problems specific to them, such as the menopause or endometriosis.
It is also an opportunity to raise awareness of the fact that certain illnesses do not present the same symptoms in men and women, as explained by cardiologist Claire Mounier-Vehier of Lille University Hospital through four key findings on cardiovascular disease in women.
These topics and many others are on the agenda of events organised by various Luxembourgish institutions and associations as part of Women’s Health Week, the programme of which can be found here.
Agence eSanté will be present with a booth at the conferences organised by the Ministry of Health and Social Security on Saturday 6 June 2025 at ENSA. Further information is available here.
